Software as a Service Applications & Cloud Apps
SaaS (or Software as a Service) applications are a great way to disrupt an industry by providing a new a way of doing things. Alternatively it could be the next evolution of a software business by using cloud computing to deliver software direct to users via the web. SaaS is a business model whereby software is available online, typically for a monthly fee, and continually updated. SaaS application can be a web application, a mobile app or both. Some even include desktop versions. SaaS advantages include no installation of software on local machines and no software updates are required for browser based systems as they always receive the latest version. SaaS apps area available wherever there is an internet connection. SaaS Apps can integrate with or be built on top of infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS). SaaS Apps can integrate with a vast array of other web services.
