Crowdsourcing’s Role In Lowering Advertising Costs
There are different versions of crowdsourcing depending on the environment you are engaging their services for. In this instance crowdsourcing refers to compelling consumers or followers to generate content based on their association/like/want/interest in your product.
Crowdsourcing is the process of obtaining needed services, ideas, or content by soliciting contributions from a large group of people a crowd), especially from an online community, rather than from traditional employees, agencies or suppliers.
Consumer electronics and retail brands are extremely lucky that their consumers create more content then they know what to do with. Some other brands need to be more creative with how to generate consumer-driven content. User-generated content is not only free advertising for a brand but it is the most valued consumer recommendation for purchasing.
According to Adobe’s State of Online Advertising research concluded that 73% of respondents thought that content should tell a unique story, 67% agreed that video is worth 1,000 words and that user-reviews were the best source of truth. A business’ focus should be on soliciting content that promotes a solid brand story and inspires consumer loyalty and advocacy.
