The best time to study and retain information is either 8 a.m. or 10 p.m. If you are going over your notes for that big presentation, then you should do it early in the morning when your short-term memory is at its highest. If you need to remember something for a longer period of time, you should study it at night, when your long-term memory is at its highest. Make these brainpower peaks and valleys work in your favour.
2. Take a power nap
The best time to take a power nap is between the hours of 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Doctors used to think the urge for a kip was due to eating a big lunch. However, research has shown that there’s a dip in body temperature in the afternoon, which causes sleepiness. Ideally, your nap should last about 15 to 20 minutes and no more than 30 minutes.
3. Get sweaty
The best time to get in your cardio workouts is between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. This will help to decrease your injury risk and improve your sleep. Your lungs will use the oxygen much more efficiently and you will be more coordinated. In addition, your muscles are well warmed, so you’re less likely to strain or sprain your muscles. Make sure that your workout is completed at least three hours before you go to bed, though, or you’ll risk staring at the ceiling instead of sleeping.
4. Ask for a raise
The best time of day to ask your boss for a raise is at 5 p.m. This is when your boss will be the least rushed and be able to actually listen to what you are saying. Additionally, this is the time of day that your body temperature is elevated and you will be more alert.
