Toyota now produces more than 10 million vehicles per year, making it one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world. Toyota Tsusho South Pacific Holdings (TTSPH Group) supports distributor operations for its Toyota, Hino, Yamaha, Massey Ferguson and Avis brands, across seven South Pacific countries including American Samoa, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Tonga.
Toyota Tsusho required an updated web presence including the website design of a new corporate site, plus a custom template for its distributor sites in the South Pacific region. The ultimate aim was to consolidate existing sites and leverage economies of scale.
The Toyota Tsusho South Pacific corporate site, designed by iFactory, successfully showcases their brand and acts as a portal to regional distributor sites. Features on this website design include an impressive range of high-quality Toyota imagery and an interactive map on the homepage that uses Image Mapping to display locator pins on hover.
iFactory also designed a custom template that will be applied in the near future for each of the seven South Pacific distributor sites. iFactory built the site in Joomla with a K2 component to allow management of nested products and complex data sets. The custom design and K2 component means the site is incredibly flexible, where functions and fields can be activated or hidden in response to the local product range (i.e. cars, motorbikes, parts, accessories). Other features include reduced load speed in response to likely connectivity issues in the region, and a shared news feed. Overall, the interactive corporate site and custom distributor site template provide Toyota with complete content control into the future, ensures brand consistency and leverages economies of scale.
